Symptom: Transmission is Slipping


Automatic: The engine speeds up during shifts when the throttle is applied, but the car does not gain any speed. The more you press on the gas pedal, the more noticeable the problem is.

Manual: As you step on the clutch and shift, the engine speeds up, but the car does not. The clutch seems to be slipping. This problem gets worse with time and should be taken care of immediately to prevent additional damage to the clutch assembly.

 

Possible Cause:


Automatic: Slipping is a problem that will get worse. If it is not corrected soon it will lead to excessive friction and heat generation, thus leading to major repairs. Call our service manager (425) 235-0101 to get extra trouble shooting help.

  • The transmission fluid level is low or incorrect
  • There is an internal problem in the transmission
  • There is a problem with the electrical controls for the transmission
  • The transmission filter is clogged
